ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the success of the Overseas Pakistanis Convention and the full participation of Pakistanis from all over the world is proof that Pakistanis living abroad are still standing with the ideology of Pakistan and the state. He was speaking as the chief guest at a dinner organized by former Deputy Mayor Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi in Islamabad in honor of Overseas Pakistan Foundation (OPF) Chairman Syed Qamar Raza, Managing Director Afzal Bhatti and guests from abroad. Islamabad’s leading political, social, and business personalities participated in the prestigious ceremony held at the foothills of Margalla Hills. The purpose of the event was to openly discuss the problems and suggestions of Overseas Pakistanis. On this occasion OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza said that the declarations made in the convention are not just verbal claims but there is a road map for their immediate and coordinated implementation. He said that the overseas convention would be held every year so that the problems of overseas Pakistanis could be effectively resolved. Former Mayor Islamabad Zeeshan Naqvi thanked the visitors from different continents and said that the presence of overseas Pakistanis in Islamabad has created a beautiful and promising environment. He suggested that this fair should be organized every year so that the mutual relations of Pakistanis living abroad can be strengthened and their role in the economic development of Pakistan can be increased. Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar said that overseas Pakistanis not only rejected the anti-state propaganda, but also sent remittances of more than four billion dollars per month, which also set a new record, which is an expression of the confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the existing government system. The participants of the event described the organization of the convention as a good initiative in which they not only got an opportunity to discuss their problems but also got an opportunity to listen to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Army Chief Asim Munir and other government leaders.
