An important meeting was chaired by Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa which was held at CDA Headquarters on Friday to review ongoing development in various sectors of CDA in Islamabad. Key agenda items included accelerating the construction and repair of main roads, and highways, expanding existing roads, ensuring permanent maintenance of of infrastructure as well as green belts, median strips, and major interchanges, and enhancing their landscape through eco-friendly plants and beautiful flowers. The meeting also discussed initiatives to promote tourism and development projects of interest to visitors in the federal capital. The Member Environment, DG Environment, Engineering, Planning and officers from CD and DMA attended the meeting.The meeting emphasized the need for consistent construction , maintenance and beautification of Islamabad’s in various sectors especially in central avenue and highways, eye-catching landscaping at interchanges, and the selection of seasonal flowers. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhwa Randhawa directed the concerned Wing to expedite the planting of flowers and sowing of seeds at key locations ahead of the summer season. Various designs of landscaping were also presented to further beautify median strips and green belts.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhwa Randhawa directed the installation of planters at major intersections to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal. He instructed the Environment Wing, Planning Wing, and Engineering Wing to strengthen monitoring systems for having update information about development projects as well as swift resolution of public issues. The meeting was informed that Traffic Police is in the process of digitising traffic management systems on central highways, improve coordination with traffic police, and identify busy corridors to ensure smooth traffic flow in order to provide smooth traffic flow to the citizen as well as tourists visiting Islamabad. Chairman CDA emphasized that revenue generated from digital billboards along highways must be allocated to road repair and maintenance.Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhwa further directed the upgrade of the CDA Model Nursery so students of university and colleges will come for research. Therefore it’s standards and status will be enhanced. He directed IT wing CDA to prepare a dedicated mobile app for the nursery so that people may purchase beautiful plants and seeds online on subsidise rates. During the meeting, joint teams comprising Environment, Engineering, DMA, Assistant Commissioners, and IT officers were tasked with conducting surveys of central highways to identify and address challenges. The meeting also stressed the urgent completion of pending tasks, including patchwork, lane markings, and curb stone installations.The meeting also discussed plan to establish a food street and pedestrian tracks at Blue Area and it was decided to take on board the representatives of Chamber of Commerce and local traders . Chairman CDA announced surprise visits to various parts of Islamabad and instructed officers concerned to initiate plantations, installation of pedestrian bridges, and solar cateyes along the Park Road.
Chairman CDA directed the Engineering Wing to begin immediate upgrades to the Diplomatic Enclave. At the end, Chairman CDA called for improved coordination among all relevant wings and formations to ensure effective implementation of projects.
