Islamabad: (PR: Dated March 7, 2025): Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited various cheap Ramadan bazaars and stalls on Friday to review the Ramadan relief package and issued immediate instructions to address public issues. The public appreciated the government’s Ramadan package for providing essential items at affordable rates.
Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, inquired about the prices and quality of food items from consumers visiting the H-9 and G-6 Bazars. Consumers at the cheap bazaar expressed satisfaction with the availability and quality of food items.The Chief Commissioner also visited the sugar stalls set up in the cheap bazaar, inquired about the issues faced by consumers, and issued on-the-spot orders for their resolution. The Chief Commissioner Islamabad also conducted a detailed inspection of the stock of essential items such as sugar, ghee, rice, and other food items in the cheap bazaars.During the briefing, it was informed to Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, that the prices of food items in Islamabad’s cheap bazaars and stalls during Ramadan are relatively lower compared to other cities. Similarly, the prices of vegetables and fruits are also lower or equal to those in other cities.Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, directed that Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates ensure the availability of food items at official prices and that relevant officers ensure their presence in cheap bazaars and markets to promptly address complaints.Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad stated that the official price lists should be prominently displayed in cheap bazaars, and helpline numbers and WhatsApp numbers should be prominently posted, keeping consumer convenience in mind. He further emphasized that strict action will be taken against those charging more than the official prices and engaging in illegal profiteering.
